Some surprises, some regulars at top of Masters leaderboard ... and Tiger's back

There have been a few surprises so far at the Masters in Augusta, Ga., but the usual suspects are in the hunt as well.

Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood currently share the lead at -8 after two rounds. Poulter has hit consecutive rounds of 68 and Westwood shot 67 Thursday and 69 Friday.

After one round of play 50-year-old Fred Couples led with a -6 66. Anthony Kim and Phil Mickelson were among the group chasing Couples at -5.

Couples struggled today, shooting a 75 and sitting -3 overall.

Mickelson and Kim are still in the hunt at -6, two strokes off the lead. K.J. Choi is also -6 … and this guy named Tiger Woods is in the mix sitting at -6 following rounds of 68 and 70.

Woods, who is playing golf for the first time since a domestic disturbance revealed his infidelities, has handled the pressure of being under scrutiny. He is obviously used to the being in the spot light, but never in a negative way.

Woods has looked great on Thursday, managing eagles on holes 8 and 15. He birdied three holes and bogey-ed three. On Friday, Woods cut recorded just one bogey on four, while scoring birdies on holes 2, 13 and 15.

Though he is two strokes back, Woods needs to be seriously considered a contender. Woods strives on confidence and if the first two days have done nothing else, it’s given the No. 1 golfer plenty of swagger.

Woods has hit 20-of-28 fairways and has been putting excellently. If Woods continues to golf like he has, he could certainly win another green jacket.
