Farokhmanesh hits a huge 3-pointer to win it for Northern Iowa

Ali Farokhmanesh wins the game for Northern Iowa with a 3-point shot from way downtown and scores 17 points to lead Northern Iowa to a big win. Northern Iowa hits nine 3-pointers and shoots 20 of 23 from the free throw-line.

UNLV also hit nine 3-pointers, and they tied the game late. However, they used a veteran mindset at the end to get the edge. The game could have gone either way, but UNLV couldn’t take advantage of 16 turnovers by Northern Iowa.

Farokhmanesh was all over the court in the win. He was always in the right spot, and he was the biggest reason they were able to overcome the turnovers. The 3-pointer at the end was just the icing on an already great game.

Northern Iowa moves on to the second round with a 69-66 win over UNLV. The win was only their second win ever in the NCAA tournament.
