West Virginia blows out Morgan State

West Virginia erased the memories of their slow start, and they cruised to the second round on a 42 shooting percentage from the field. Morgan State didn’t have an answer on defense once the Mountaineers started to click on offense.

The Bears had xx turnovers and only shot 30 percent from the field. The smaller team had no chance to win without making baskets. West Virginia ran the floor, and they didn’t have to contend with a set defender.

The free throw-line was another huge discrepancy. West Virginia shot made 25 out of 31, and Morgan State made 11 out of 20 from the line.

Kevin Jones, with 17 points, and Devin Eubanks, with 16 points and 11 rebounds, led the scoring for the Mountaineers, and the final four favorite looked very good after the slow start. They did what they wanted, and the Bears didn’t have enough to compete.

West Virginia crushes their way into round two by winning 77-50 over Morgan State. The slow start should be disconcerting, however. They cannot afford to fall down by ten against a team like Kentucky.
